Mr. Sarteeb Parsa Abdulrahimzai

Mr. Sarteeb Parsa Abdulrahimzai is a seasoned microfinance and Islamic banking professional with over 19 years of progressive experience in microfinance operations, Islamic and conventional banking, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and institutional supervision in Afghanistan. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer (COO), Financing and Operations Manager, and Coordinator of the Afghanistan Microfinance Association (AMA). In these capacities, he worked closely with Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), MISFA, donors, and microfinance institutions to strengthen sector coordination, enhance operational systems, build staff capacity, and expand financial inclusion—particularly for women and underserved communities.

Mr. Parsa is also an Academic Member of the Research Centre for Islamic Banking and Contemporary Issues at the Afghanistan Science Academy, where he contributes to research, policy development, and governance frameworks related to Islamic finance and Shariah-compliant financial systems. His extensive hands-on experience includes oversight of branch operations, operational risk management, internal control systems, audit coordination, portfolio monitoring, and Shariah compliance. He has strong expertise in microfinance and core banking systems such as MX-Plus, MUSONI, MB-Win, and MSPS, as well as advanced analytical and reporting skills. Mr. Parsa’s leadership approach is grounded in accountability, transparency, operational discipline, and teamwork, with a strong focus on service quality, regulatory compliance, and sustainable institutional growth. He is committed to applying best practices in Islamic microfinance to ensure responsible, ethical, and inclusive financial services. In his current role as Chief Operating Officer at Lamen Microfinance Institution, Mr. Sarteeb Parsa leads and oversees institutional operations, strengthens internal systems, and controls, and supports the strategic growth and operational excellence of the institution in alignment with Shariah principles and regulatory requirements.
